The Man is a 2005 American comedy crime film starring Eugene Levy, Samuel L. Jackson, and Miguel Ferrer.

The Man is directed by Les Mayfield and produced by Rob Fried from a screenplay by Jim Piddock, Margaret Oberman and Stephen Carpenter, based on the story by Jim Piddock and Margaret Oberman. New Line Cinema released The Man in Canada (through Alliance Atlantis) and the United States on September 9, 2005.

Filming took place in Toronto, Hamilton and Oakville, Ontario, Canada.[1]

داستان فیلم

Andy Fiddler (Eugene Levy) is preparing a speech,he is going to give to a dental convention in (Detroit).. He works for a dental supply company, and lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Meanwhile, in Detroit, a secure (ATF) weapons room has been robbed of assault rifles, handguns and ammunition.An ATF agent was killed and (Internal Affairs) agent Peters (Miguel Ferrer)suspects the dead agent and his partner Agent Derrick Vann (Samuel L. Jackson) were in on the robbery. After a visit to his informant Booty (Anthony Mackie) (who is later gunned down), Vann,attempting to clear his name, sets up a buy. He is to go to a diner and be reading a USA Today. Unfortunately, Andy is also in the diner, and he has a copy of USA Today. A menacing Englishman (Luke Goss) sits next to Andy and hands him a paper bag with "his taste" in it then leaves. He wants "Turk" (the pseudonym that Vann used when setting up the buy) to drop $20,000 dollars in a certain trash can. Vann reveals that he has the money, and needs Fiddler to drop it.

Andy gets another call asking him what happened. He tells them that there were complications. Joey says he will call back in about an hour. Meanwhile, Andy tries to get away, only to have Vann graze him with a gunshot to the rear.

Andy is taken in for questioning due to an outstanding warrant on his criminal record- he purchased a stolen rug in Turkey without knowing that it was stolen, but Vann gets him out of prison to assist him in his investigation as the public contact.

When back in the car, Andy complains that he is hungry. Vann takes him to a burger joint.

Fidler suggests that they go to Vann's daughter's dance recital, which they do.

they leave and call Joey. They arrange for a meeting which they attend with no backup. Upon meeting Joey and his cronies, Joey asks who Vann is. Andy tells him that Vann will do anything that is told. Vann admits this, and tells them that he is betraying the service to make some money. Joey is convinced, and Vann takes Andy to his hotel, and they say goodbye.

They tell him that Vann was lying to both him and them, and that he is actually trying to buy the guns and killed Booty, Cortez, and Vann's partner himself. They need him to wear a wire and get a confession out of Vann.

Meanwhile, back at ATF offices, Vann is suspended, and his boss (Susie Essman) tells him that Andy was setting him up. Andy, now wired, enters Vann's office and says they need to talk. Vann starts driving to the exchange with Andy in tow. Recognizing Andy acting agitated, Vann asks him straight out if he is wired. Andy admits he is.

They enter the barn where the exchange is going to go down. Joey is skeptical and pulls a gun on Vann.

He blames it on Andy, and the last shot of the film is of a protesting Andy being led away for a cavity search.

In its opening weekend, The Man earned $4,065,014 in 2,040 theaters. Altogether, the film was a box office bomb, only earning $8,330,720 in the United States and Canada and $12,382,362 worldwide. The DVD was released on January 10, 2006. It has been discounted.[2]

پذیرش

The Man had received negative reviews from critics, many of whom shared the opinion that the plot was pointless and its jokes rehashed. Review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes currently reports that the film holds a score of 11% based on 100 reviews.[3] Meanwhile, on Metacritic, the film received a metascore of 33 out of 100 based on 27 reviews, carrying an indication of "generally unfavorable reviews", while the user score from the website's audience carries a 5.9 out of 10, meaning "mixed or average reviews".[4] For his two 2005 performances in The Man and Cheaper by the Dozen 2, Eugene Levy received a Razzie nomination for Worst Supporting Actor.

Zip & Zap and the Marble Gang is a 2013 Spanish adventure film directed by Oskar Santos. It is based on the comic book series Zipi y Zape, created by José Escobar Saliente[2][3][4] The film had its premiere at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival on September 8, 2013.[5] The film had a theatrical release in Spain on October 4, 2013.[6]

The film later screened at 2014 Sundance Film Festival, in newly introduced category Sundance Kids on January 18, 2014.[7]

Zip & Zap and the Marble Gang received positive reviews from critics. Jonathan Holland in his review for The Hollywood Reporter said that "A slice of wholesome, family-friendly entertainment whose main interest lies in its lavish often spectacular visuals."[8] Jaime Winston of Salt Lake magazine, praised the film by saying that "The dialogue's witty, the special effects are seamless and the story is pretty smart."[9] Matthew Blevins in his review for Next Projection said that "Zip & Zap and the Marble Gang will entrance kids and speak to their intrinsic rebelliousness with its charms and message to never underestimate the value of fun, even if reactionary parents and cruel taskmasters have forgotten the best parts of youth."[10]

فیلم سینمایی "سقوط امپراتوری روم" ساخته آنتون مان ساعت 10 پنجشنبه 26 مهرماه در هشتمین نشست کانون فیلم تاریخ در موزه سینما به نمایش درمی‌آید.
به گزارش خبرگزاری مهر، روابط عمومی بنیاد سینمایی فارابی اعلام کرد در جلسه نقد و بررسی این فیلم که پس از نمایش آن برگزار می‌شود، علی بیگدلی استاد تاریخ و یک منتقد سینما حضور خواهند داشت.

"سقوط امپراتوری روم" از آثار حماسی مان به شمار می‌رود و روند اضمحلال این امپراتوری بزرگ را به تصویر می‌کشد. سوفیا لورن، استیون بوید، جیمز میسن، کریستوفر پلامر، الک گینس، عمر شریف و ... بازیگران این فیلم هستند و موسیقی متن آن را دیمیتری تیومکین ساخته است. مان "ال سید" را نیز در پرونده کاری خود دارد.

Cold Comes the Night is a 2013 American crime thriller film directed by Tze Chun, who co-wrote the script with Oz Perkins and Nick Simon. The film stars Alice Eve, Bryan Cranston, Logan Marshall-Green, Ursula Parker and Leo Fitzpatrick, and was produced by Mynette Louie and Trevor Sagan.

Chloe, a single mother living with her daughter Sophia, operates a motel. Topo is a blind man traveling cross country in a Jeep with his associate John. They stop by Chloe's motel, when John hires prostitute Gwen, and convinces Topo to stay the night. When Gwen is entertaining John, an argument has John fatally shooting Gwen, waking Chloe up. Chloe investigating finds Gwen and John dead.

The police arriving, Chloe has a conversation with her police friend Billy who was Gwen's pimp. He comforts her while Chloe tells him she will not allow his girls to use the rooms in her motel anymore, as a social worker was around earlier threatening to take Sophia away. The following day Topo takes Chloe and Sophia hostage looking for the Jeep. As Sophia watches TV Chloe agrees to retrieve the Jeep from the police. Topo forces Chloe and Sophia to stake out Billy's residence. Amber answers the door and Chloe and Billy fight. Billy refuses to give Chloe the Jeep. Topo forces Chloe to break into the police junkyard and retrieve a package hidden behind the radio. After evading the Patrolman, Chloe reaches the car but cannot find the package.

Back at the motel, Chloe learns more about Topo and figures out that he is a courier who is supposed to deliver bundles of money. She proposes to Topo that they split the money if she helps him faster and he reluctantly agrees due to his new impairment. After Chloe falls asleep with Sophia Topo looks around and finds Chloe's hidden stash of emergency money.

The next morning, Topo and Chloe stake out, learning that John was Topo's nephew and Chloe's husband died in a hit and run. After finding Billy, Chloe follows him only to be found out and cornered in an ally. After Billy has Chloe pinned on the roof of the car, Topo sneaks up behind him and interrogates him and heads to Billy's house thinking the money is stashed there. After Chloe finds the money under the bed she is confronted by Billy's wife Amber, whom Topo shoots. They leave after tying Billy to the radiator. They go back to the motel where Topo leaves with all of the money with another associate, Donnie.

Chloe calls the police and tells them that she was a hostage. They tell her that Billy was not found at his house and decide to leave a squad-car there for her safety. Topo and Donnie meet Québécois mafia, Jacques and his associates in a car park. The mafia force Topo into the car and proceed to count the money to find that Topo is missing fifty grand, which Chloe has as her cut. When Jacques threatens to kill Topo, Topo kills them all. Back at the motel, Chloe packs her and Sophia's things, she sends the police away only to be approached by Topo to give her back her cut, when Billy shoots Topo and Donnie, and has cornered Chloe, who then throws him through a window, unintentionally fatally slicing his neck.

Chloe sets the scene to look like a deal gone bad, and takes Sophia into a taxi to parts unknown.

The film was shot over 22 days in October and November 2012 in Windham, Cairo, and East Durham in Greene County, upstate New York.[1] Formerly known as Eye of Winter and Cold Quarter, the film is the second feature collaboration between director Tze Chun and producer Mynette Louie; their previous film, Children of Invention, premiered at Sundance in 2009.[2]

On July 25, 2013, it was announced that Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions acquired worldwide rights to the film.[3] The first trailer was released on July 24, 2013.[4] The film had its theatrical premiere in the UK on September 20, 2013, followed by a US premiere on January 10, 2014.

The film has received mixed to negative reviews from critics. While Eve and Cranston have received praise for their performances, some of the film's twists have been criticized. On Rotten Tomatoes, the film gathered a 44% "rotten" rating. The critics consensus says, "Despite strong performances from Bryan Cranston and Alice Eve, Cold Comes the Night is undone by a series of illogical plot twists." It has a score of 37% on Metacritic

Upstairs Downstairs is a British drama series, broadcast on BBC One from 2010 to 2012 and co-produced by BBC Wales and Masterpiece. Created and written by Heidi Thomas, it is a continuation of the London Weekend Television series Upstairs, Downstairs that ran from 1971 to 1975 on ITV.

The series resumes the story of 165 Eaton Place, the fictional setting of both iterations of the programme, in 1936, six years after the original series concluded. Jean Marsh reprises her role as Rose Buck, who becomes housekeeper of the re-established household, with Ed Stoppard and Keeley Hawes playing its new owners Sir Hallam and Lady Agnes Holland. The first series, consisting of three episodes, was broadcast across consecutive nights during Christmas 2010. The second, and last, series consisted of six episodes, and first aired between 19 February 2012 and 25 March 2012. The series is set from 1936 to 1939, the outbreak of the Second World War.

In October 2009 it was announced that the BBC was to revive the series as two 90-minute episodes to be broadcast on BBC One in the autumn of 2010, written by Heidi Thomas and set in 1936, six years after the original series finished.

At the time the original show ended its run, the year was 1930, the Great Depression had already begun, and the Bellamy family had lost all their money in the crash of 1929.

James Bellamy, the only son of Richard, the Viscount Bellamy, was responsible in persuading not only his family but also the faithful family servant, Rose Buck, to invest all their money in the stock market. Consequently, James committed suicide and the Bellamy family, as well as all the servants, left Eaton Place to start new lives.

Mr. Hudson, the head butler, and Mrs. Bridges, the cook, married and moved to the seaside, taking the kitchen maid, Ruby Finch, to live with them; Edward, the chauffeur, and his wife Daisy, the maid, were given new positions by the Bellamys' cousin, Georgina, and her husband, Lord Stockbridge, in their new country house; and Rose was offered the job as maid to Lord and Lady Bellamy at their small villa.

The new series would see Jean Marsh reprising the role of Rose Buck as the only original cast member from the LWT series. Buck now runs a domestic servant agency after a time away nursing a relative in the country. She returns to 165 Eaton Place as housekeeper to the new owners, the Holland family, with Dame Eileen Atkins playing one of the characters upstairs.

There are no explanations as to what has happened to Lady Bellamy, Georgina, Lord Stockbridge, as well as Mr. Hudson, Mrs. Bridges, Edward, Daisy, and Ruby during that six-year period. In fact, in the first installment, the Bellamy family and the original staff are only fleetingly referred to when Mrs. Thackeray, the new cook, refers to 165 Eaton Place as "the Bellamy house". However, Rose does mention Lord Bellamy as "the late" meaning he is dead by 1936. Also, there are scenes with Rose serving tea to Lady Agnes and Mrs. Thackeray at her domestic agency. Rose mentions that the teapot was given to her as a gift by Lord and Lady Bellamy in appreciation for all her years of service to the family. Also, in another scene when Lady Agnes gives Rose the keys to the wine cellar, she mentions that they had belonged to Mr. Hudson. Rose takes the keys and looks at them, smiling, in a very nostalgic way.

In August 2010, the BBC announced that the planned two 90-minute shows would instead consist of three hour-long episodes, with Keeley Hawes, Ed Stoppard, Anne Reid, Claire Foy, Adrian Scarborough, Art Malik, Ellie Kendrick and Nico Mirallegro joining Jean Marsh and Eileen Atkins in the cast. In the middle of August 2010, filming started in Cardiff, with parts of the city transformed into 1930s Belgravia for exterior scenes, and the interiors shot in BBC's Llandaff studios in Cardiff. Further filming of exterior scenes took place in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire in September 2010 with a terrace in Clarendon Square (by the same architect, Peter Frederick Robinson, as the London square used in the original series) doubling up as Eaton Place.

The new Upstairs Downstairs was made in-house by BBC Wales as a co-production with Masterpiece on PBS, and was broadcast on BBC1 with the debut episode shown on 26 December 2010. A soundtrack album of music from the new series by composer Daniel Pemberton was released on iTunes. The three episodes have been picked up by overseas broadcasters, including the ABC in Australia, NRK in Norway, Sky in New Zealand, DR in Denmark, YLE in Finland, IBA in Israel and TV4 in Sweden.
Series 2

BBC1 recommissioned six 60-minute episodes of the drama to be broadcast in 2012, with Stoppard, Hawes, Reid, Foy, Malik, Ritson, Mirallegro, Scarborough and Jackson all returning to the series. Sarah Gordy and Alexia James, introduced during series 1 as Hallam's Down syndrome-suffering sister Pamela and the household's Jewish ward Lotte respectively, also continue to appear on a recurring basis. Eileen Atkins does not appear in series 2, having stated in the press that she was unhappy with the development of her character; so Maud therefore dies before the series resumes. Ellie Kendrick also left the cast, with the character of Ivy replaced in the household with Eunice McCabe (Ami Metcalf). (Interestingly, the relationship between Eunice and Mrs. Thackeray, the cook, is quite similar to the interaction between Ruby, the kitchen maid, - played by Jenny Tomasin - and Mrs. Bridges, the cook, - played by Angela Baddeley- in the previous version of Upstairs, Downstairs.)

Jean Marsh was unable to attend the majority of filming for the series after suffering from a stroke and heart attack, with scripts altered shortly before filming to accommodate her absence. On-screen Rose is confined to a sanatorium after contracting tuberculosis, and appears in two scenes over the series.

Other new additions to the cast include Alex Kingston as the younger half-sister of Maud, Blanche Mottershead and Laura Haddock as maid Beryl Ballard. Special guest stars in the series include Kenneth Cranham as Sergeant Ashworth, Michael Landes as American multimillionaire Caspar Landry, Emilia Fox as Blanche's lover Lady Portia Alresford and Sarah Lancashire as Violet Whisset, a love interest for Mr Pritchard. Derbyshire manufacturer The Dolls House Emporium supplied a period 'Montgomery Hall' dolls' house as a prop for the 2012 series.

Plot

Sir Hallam Holland, a young diplomat, moves into the townhouse along with his wife, Lady Agnes, in January 1936 shortly before the death of George V. They engage former parlourmaid Rose Buck, now running her own agency for domestic servants, to find them staff as they renovate the house to its former glory after years of being mothballed.

As they settle into London life, they are soon confronted with Lady Agnes' fiery young sister Lady Persephone, Sir Hallam's overbearing widowed mother, who moves herself into the house along with secretary and pet monkey, and a young, barely-trained house staff serving under a reluctant head housemaid. Added to these stressors are the still-plangent memory of Lady Agnes's past miscarriage, a mystery surrounding Sir Hallam's sister, who died as an infant, and a surprise foster-child they feel obliged to maintain.

Downstairs, life goes on much as it always has. Rose, convinced to remain, hires a staff of strong young hopefuls, to assist her trusted friend the cook, and the well-credentialled new butler. Besides training the young servants and navigating between her old memories and the new demands of the house, Rose must also help train Lady Agnes in the ways and manner of running a townhouse. The new downstairs family slowly begins to pull together as a unit, overcoming obstacles of age, class and race as they come to know one another's stories.

The first series began airing in the UK in December 2010. These episodes were featured in the U.S. on PBS's Masterpiece Classic in April 2011. VisionTV in Canada premiered the episodes in October 2011. ABC1 in Australia began airing the series on 4 December 2011.

Also attending the dinner is the US Ambassador to the Court of St. James, Joseph P. Kennedy, his wife, Rose, and their son, John F. Kennedy, who makes a brief appearance downstairs. Blanche and Mr Amanjit work to rescue Jewish children from Germany, and after receiving a phonecall from Lady Persie, Agnes convinces her husband to help her sister as well. Reception

Series 1 was aired in the UK over three consecutive nights commencing 26 December 2010. It was a substantial ratings success—garnering viewing figures of 8.85, 8.13 and 8.18 million respectively, and winning its slot against all seasonal competition. The programme was nominated for six Primetime Emmy awards in 2011.

The second series of six episodes began on 19 February, with an audience of 7.78 million, but by the time it ended on 25 March, the viewing figures had dropped to 5.22 million. Part of the reason may have been Marsh's absence from the second series (except for two cameo appearances), which left the programme both without a unifying centre of attention and the only remaining link to the original show. It was confirmed on 21 April that Upstairs Downstairs would not be returning for a third series.

Composer Carl Davis was brought in for the second series, composing new incidental music, occasionally using elements from Alexander Faris's original theme for the original 1971 series - which was popularised as single release by Mantovani. Davis's music was released as a soundtrack album. The soundtrack was nominated for the Ivor Novello Awards in 2013, but did not win.

خلاصه داستان:

در این فیلم یکبار دیگر شاهد یک سینمای کاملا سیاسی از فرانچسکو رزی هستیم. این بار موضوع داستان او باز میگردد به زندگی پر پیچ و خم چارلی لوچیانو مشهور به خوش شانس.
داستان با یک سکانس پر شکوه از آخرین لحظات حضور چارلی لوچیانو در آمریکا آغاز میشود. در یک سکانس 14 دقیقه ای داستان به مرور تمامی اتفاقات مهم زندگی لوچیانو در 20 سال گذشته میپردازد. مسائلی که همه جزو تاثیر گذار ترین اتفاقا بر جریانات درون گروهی مافیای ایالات متحده و همچنین روابط سیاسی این کشور هستند.

چارلی لوچیانو با کشتن جو ماسه ریا در رستورانی در نیویورک و همچنین کشتن سالواتوره مارانزانو در محل دفترش، به رهبری مافیای ایالات متحده میرسد. جمله او در زمانی که پلیس درباره ارتباط او با جو ماسه ریا سوال میکند بسیار تاریخی شده است. "او مانند پدرم بود و به اندازه پدرم دوستش داشتم" !
در همین افتتاحیه 14 دقیقه ای و در جشنی که به مناسبت خروج لوچیانو از آمریکا در سواحل امن نیویورک برقرار گردیده است، بیننده به شکل کاملی با یک به یک اعضای جهان مادون از زبان پلیس های مخفی نیویورک آشنا میشود. فرانک کاستلو، مایر لانسکی، ویتو جنووزه، آلبرت آناستازیا ... و تمام افرادی که پس از چارلی لوچیانو به عنوان نماینده او در نیویورک، کلیولند، شیکاگو به فعالیت خواهند پرداخت. سپس فیلم ما را با اتفاقاتی که منجر به رهبری لوچیانو بر مافیای ایالات متحده شده است آشنا میکند و به طور خاص به "شب عبادت سیسیلی" میپردازد.
کشته شدن همه رهبران مافیای ایالات متجده و رهبری لوچیانو بر سازمان جنایتکاری آمریکا.

داستان تا زمان حاضر ادامه میابد تا آن که سرانجام لوچیانو توسط توماس ای دووی محکوم، دستگیر و در نهایت به خاطر همکاری او در پیاده کردن نیرو در سیسیل با آزادی مشروط به ایتالیا تبعید میشود.
با این حال کلیت داستان در ایتالیا و سیسیل میگذرد و به دوره ای که در واقع دوره فطرت کاری لوچیانو به عنوان یک رهبر بر کنار مانده و تلاشهای او برای ایجاد ارتباط بیشتر میان مافیای ایتالیائی و آمریکائی با سیستم سیاسی نوینی است که بر ایتالیا حکومت میکند.
اما این که آیا او در این راه موفق است یا خیر را باید در متن فیلم جستجو کرد ...

دهمین فیلم فرانچسکو روزی، شخصیت لاکی لوچیانو یکی از کثیف‌ترین و بدنام‌ترین تبهکاران تاریخ آمریکا و ایتالیا را به تصویر می‌کشد.

یکی دیگر از آثار فرانچسکو روزی که به زندگی کاراکترهای واقعی پرداخته، همین لاکی لوچیانو است که دست برقضا نسبت به فیلم ارزشمندی مانند سالواتوره جولیانو، اثری ضعیف‌تر قلمداد می‌شود.

هرچند هردوی این فیلم‌ها به بررسی زندگی و مرگ 2 تبهکار سیسیلی می‌پرداختند. لاکی لوچیانو به تعبیری و از آنجا که پیشینه زندگی در آمریکا را داشت برای تماشاگران آمریکایی نیز داستانش جذاب بود و به نوعی بیش از دیگر آثار رزی، گیشه‌ها را فتح کرد.

دهمین فیلم روزی، شخصیت لاکی لوچیانو یکی از کثیف‌ترین و بدنام‌ترین تبهکاران تاریخ آمریکا و ایتالیا را به تصویر می‌کشد. جنایتکاری که در نخستین دهه زندگی‌اش برای یافتن آینده‌ای بهتر همراه خانواده‌اش رهسپار نیویورک شد و 15 سال بعد از آن در آستانه 30‌سالگی، یکی از شرورترین و تبهکارترین افراد شهر نام گرفت.

لوچیانو خانه‌های فساد و مراکز قمار بی‌شماری در این شهر راه‌اندازی کرد و کم‌کم به یکی از سران مافیای قدرتمند نیویورک تبدیل شد؛ به طوری که که جزو 5 خانواده اصلی مافیا جا گرفت. با این همه او در سال 1936 در پی اقدامات بی‌شرمانه و مجرمانه‌اش، دستگیر و در دادگاه ابتدا به اعدام و پس از فرجام‌خواهی به حبس از 30 تا 50 سال محکوم شد.

در پی جنگ جهانی دوم، دولت آمریکا از لوچیانو خواست تا با استفاده از نفوذش در سیسیل ایتالیا اطلاعات مهم آن منطقه را به دست بیاورد و او از داخل سلول خود با فرستادن افرادی به ایتالیای تحت فرمان موسولینی، اطلاعات ارزشمندی به نفع آمریکایی‌ها جاسوسی می‌کرد. پس از جنگ، دولت آمریکا به لوچیانو در ازای خدماتش پیشنهاد آزادی داد مبنی بر این‌که دیگر هرگز پا به این کشور نگذارد. لوچیانو به سیسیل برگشت و دوباره به راه‌اندازی گروه مافیایی و اعمال تبهکاری‌اش ادامه داد تا سرانجام در سال 1962 مرد.

فرانچسکو روزی در این فیلم به بازگویی چهره واقعی او پرداخته است. این‌که چنین تبهکاری چه نیازی به رونمایی مجدد داشته باشد سوالی است که بسیاری از نویسندگان سینمایی در زمان اکران فیلم از روزی داشتند و به زعم او ساخت سرگذشت افرادی مانند لاکی لوچیانو می‌تواند به بازخوانی تاریخ کمک کند.

سالواتوره لوچیانو (لاکی لوچیانو) تبهکار مشهور و پدر جرم و جنایت های سازمان یافته در نیویورک است که توانست به خانواده مافیا در آمریکا سامان دهد. لوچیانو در سیسیل (1897) به دنیا آمد و در ناپل (1962) از دنیا رفت. او قوی ترین رییس گروه های مافیایی بود که نیروهای پلیس و دستگاه قضایی را در یافتن سندی برای اثبات و نشان دادن اقدام هایش، ناکام گذاشت. فرانچسکو رزی، کارگردان ایتالیایی، در فیلم Lucky Luciano (محصول1973) به زندگی این مرد پیچیده و مرموز می پردازد. جیان ماریا ولنته(Gian Maria Volonte) در این فیلم نقش لوچیانو را بازی می کند. همچنین در جشنواره کن (2013) و در بخش نمایش شاهکارهای سینمای کلاسیک، این فیلم نیز در میان 20فیلم دیگر به نمایش گذاشته شد... لوچیانو پس از اینکه در آمریکا مورد عفو قرار می گیرد، در میان سیل خبرنگاران و عکاسان، نیویورک را به وسیله کشتی ترک کرده، راهی ایتالیا شده و ابتدا به زادگاه خود (سیسیل) می رود. از همان ابتدا با شخصیت پیچیده و چندلایه او مواجه می شویم. با کودکانی که بر سر راهش قرار می گیرند، مهربانانه برخورد می کند، از غم مادری که فرزندانش را از دست داده متاثر می شود، به موسسه های خیریه کمک می کند و... ولی این چیزی نیست جز ظاهر خونسرد، آرام و غیرخشن او. در گزارش های مربوط به قاچاق کالاو مواد مخدر نام او مرتب تکرار می شود. هرچند او در مواجهه با پرسش های خبرنگاران ایتالیایی کسانی که مسایل مربوط به قاچاق کالاو موادمخدر و معامله های غیرقانونی را پیگیری می کنند مسخره کرده و ابراز می دارد اینکه همه چیز را زیر سر او می دانند یک بازی است و هیچ مدرکی بر ضد او وجود ندارد... لوچیانو، تبهکاری است که جریان های مافیایی را هدایت می کند اما چون به طور مستقیم در معامله ها شرکت نکرده و از هرگونه رفتار و حرکت خطرآمیزی پرهیز کرده، ردی از خود بر جا نمی گذارد، از این رو مدرکی به دست پلیس نمی دهد تا بتوانند او را بازداشت کنند. فرانچسکو رزی، در این فیلم به خوبی تیزهوشی این شخصیت تبهکار را نشان داده و به مخاطب هم چیز چندانی از آنچه در پشت پرده جریان دارد نشان نمی دهد! تنها راه متوقف کردن لوچیانو همان تصویری است که در پایان می بینیم، ایستادن قلب او.
فیلمساز با مرور گذشته (سال های آخر جنگ جهانی دوم در ایتالیا) تصویری از وضعیت ایتالیا و رفتارها و تصمیم گیری هایی که موجب شکل گیری و گسترش برخی اقدام های غیرانسانی شده ارایه می کند (فرصت طلب هایی که به نام خدمت به مردم ستمدیده و مبارزه با فساد و بی عدالتی، با اطمینان خاطر در حال غارت و چپاول کردن هستند) که جای اندیشیدن دارد. تهیه کننده فیلم Lucky Luciano فرانکو کریستالدی است که فیلم های مشهوری همچون «سینما پارادیزو» اثر جوزپه تورناتوره، «شب های روشن» اثر لوچینو ویسکونتی و... را هم تهیه کرده است. این فیلم شباهت های زیادی نیز به درام جنایی «پدرخوانده» اثر فرانسیس فورد کاپولا دارد که در سال 1972 ساخته شده است.
