انیمیشن (پویا نمایی) «به پیش» یک فیلم سه بعدی و اثری فانتزی از شهری است که ساکنان الف یا انسان نما دارد و داستان زندگی دو برادر را به نمایش میگذارد که با پشت سر نهادن حوادثی جادویی در این انیمیشن به هم نزدیک شده و برای هدفی مشترک که دیدن دوباره پدر و بازگرداندن او از دنیای ارواح برای لحظاتی کوتاه ، تلاش میکنند و به خود باوری و مسئولیت پذیری در قبال یکدیگر میرسند.
ایان برادر کوچکتر و خجالتی در سن بلوغ و نوجوانی است و در حال گذراندن این دوران با جنگیدن و کشمکش درونی به دنبال الگو میگردد و بارنی برادر بزرگترش با رفتارهای عجیبش او را در این مسیر همراهی میکند.
ایان و بارنی با خارج شدن ازدنیای مدرن شهری با توسل به جادو و سنت های دیرینه خود و باور قصه های کهن به دنبال رسیدن به آرزویی یک روزه (دیدار پدر فوت شده) پا به مکان های اساطیری و ناشناخته میگذارند....
تماشای این انیمیشن را بهمراه کودکانتان توصیه میشود . از کودک تا بزرگسال میتوانند به تماشای این اثر بپردازند اما مهم ترین اصل کودکان هستند که با رویا پردازی بزرگ میشوند و در دنیای تخیل رشد میکنند و تاکید فیلم بر جادو و پذیرش سهل آن از سوی کودک موجب خطرات جبران ناپذیری می شود.
کلیات داستان و شخصیت پردازی افراد در داستان تکراری و بسیار آشنا به ذهن میرسد. سکانس ها قابل پیش بینی بود و گاهی عملکرد واقعی زندگی افراد بسیار نادیده گرفته شده (عکس العمل مادر خانواده در برابر همسر درگذشته و...).
استفاده از متن ها وسکانسهایی که یاد آور فیلم هری پاتر و ارباب حلقه ها و استناد به اسامی جادوگران که نیاز به یاد آوری آنها نبود زیرا هر فیلم باید دارای مشخصات خاص به خودش باشد.
فروش فیلم بسیار کمتر از بودجه پیش بینی شده بود و کمپانی دیزنی مجبور شد تا پس از دو هفته اکران سریعا نسخه دیجیتالی آنرا وارد بازار نماید.
علی الرغم نظر مثبت منتقدان نتوانست فروش خوبی داشته باشد و یکی از دلایل اصلی آنرا میتوان شیوع ویروس کرونا و تعطیلی سینماها در کل جهان و خصوصا چین دانست.
نکات مثبت انیمیشن Onward
لقب احساسی ترین انیمیشن کمپانی پیکسار را به خود اختصاص داد زیرا دیالوگ های خوبی بین شخصیت دو برادر استفاده شده و طنز های بجا آنرا جالبتر می نماید . لحظات احساسی زیادی در اثر دیده میشود و فداکاری ها و قدرشناسی دو طرفه بسیار احساس برانگیز است و شیرین ترین لحظه ، قسمت پایانی فیلم و دیدار پدر نقطه اوج فیلم را به نمایش میگذارد...
انتخاب درست و بجای صداپیشگان یکی از نقاط قوت فیلم می باشد واهمیت دادن به سنت ها و خودباوری و یافتن عشق و آرامش در خانواده دیدگاه مثبتی است که نمیتوان از آن چشم پوشید .

آنچه درباره کارگردان لازم است بدانید او نویسنده اصلی این پویا نمایی ست و در دو سالگی پدر خود را بر اثر بیماری از دست میدهد و شاید اصلی ترین انگیزه او از نگارش این فیلمنامه تحقق رویای کودکیش بود که فقط برای 24 ساعت لذت در کنار پدر بودن را تجربه نماید ...
«به پیش» دومین اثر بلند اوست. از بهترین آثارش میتوان دانشگاه هیولاها در 2013 و کارخانه هیولاها و...دانست.
